Seminar on the Enrolment and Registration of Roma, Ashkalia and Egyptian Children in Primary Education in Kosovo

On 24 June 2011, CRP/K organized a seminar on the “Enrolment and Registration of Roma, Ashkalia and Egyptian Children in Primary Education in Kosovo”, a project funded by the European Union, and co-financed by the “Civil Rights Defenders” (CRD), managed by the European Commission Liaison Office to Kosovo (ECLO), and implemented by CRP/K. The project aimed to help the enrolment and registration of Roma, Ashkalia, Egyptian communities in Primary Education. Another particular aspect of this project was the awareness-raising of the members of Roma, Ashkalia and Egyptian communities on the importance of education and the prevention of abandonment of primary education by the Roma, Ashkalia and Egyptian communities in Kosovo. Various government and municipal education officials as well as local and international NGOs participated at the event. Various informational material, such as TV advertisement, leaflets and posters, were presented to the participants by CRP/K. The seminar was held at Restaurant Brilant in Prishtina.
